Hayden Phoenix has had his ups and downs so far in RWD... winning some and losing some. The Battle Royale is a great chance for a relatively unknown superstar to put his name in the hat and gain the opportunity to become the first World Champion of RWD.
[The scene opens as Hayden Phoenix is sitting in the locker room, getting prepared for his match. The roar of the crowd can be heard as the show begins]
So it seems that Assad is doubting himself? Just because a couple of Canadians got over on him? Well good. I am damn glad that Assad has seen that his ways of cheating and being a snake won't give him the win every time. Hardwork... dedicated... talent... skill... heart... those are qualities that will help lead me towards the finish line. Those are qualities that I used to helped defeated Assad... and cause him to feel like the loser he really is. At the end of the day and the end of this hopeful title chance, Assad and myself have a score to settle and I am sure that management will recognize what a great match we can put on. He beat me the first time around in a one-on-one match... but I won't let there be a second.
[Phoenix shakes his head, the thought of Assad getting the better of him not being one that he would see happening]
Now I am getting a bit off-track and focusing on just one opponent in this match, but the truth is there are nine other men including Assad that I need to worry about. I am coming into this match in the last spot which keeps me fresh, but momentum can be a killer and momentum is something that any of these opponents may have while I am just entering the ring. I need to overcome that momentum... I need to overcome the fact that I am facing what potentially could be a ring full of opponents. I know that there is a huge target on my back because I am the last man in and in the ring will be some stellar opponents. Scotty Addams even said that I could just as easily be tossed outside of the ring as I have entered... and I agree with him. I know how easy it is to lose a match like this. I know the challenge of a battle like this... it is not something that I am taking lightly. I appreciate the warning Addams.
At the end of the day... this is not about being better than the rest nor is it about being stronger or faster... it is about having a plan, being able to stay in the match while also working on eliminating those in the match. If I have to team up with someone to eliminate a common enemy than I will do it, but I know that they could just as easily turn on me. I know guys like KONSTANTINE and Addams are posied for the big time, and I know that guys like Carter have tons of heart. Assad is willing to stop at nothing to take me out. And Kruzer is not someone that you can count out either... the ring will be filled with talent from many different backgrounds. I need to be on my game and prepared for anything that comes my way.
