We cut backstage where Shawna Martinez is seen pounding on a door. She pounds for a few seconds until finally the door opens up. Elliott Channing stands there, hand on hip.
Elliott Channing: YES. Shawna, I hear you. What do you need?
Elliott asks a little bit irritated.
Shawna Martinez: I want Artemis Kaiser inside of a ring, tonight!
The crowd pops upon hearing Shawna’s request.
Elliott Channing: Shawna, I can’t do that.
Boos follow the response.
Shawna Martinez: Why not? Why are you favoring that arrogant coward!?
Elliott puts her hands up in an effort to calm Shawna down.
Elliott Channing: I can’t just let anyone have a match with Artemis, if I gave everyone that then she would have almost a dozen women to face already. If you want a shot at the women’s champion then you have to prove you deserve it inside of the ring.
Shawna shakes her head.
Shawna Martinez: This isn’t about the women’s championship, this is about Artemis breaking my neck and then bragging about it. This is about a woman who laughed about nearly ending my career. I couldn’t give a damn about the women’s championship. I want to lay Artemis out and show her what it felt like to be broken.
By now Shawna is in Elliott’s face and Elliott holds her ground.
Elliott Channing: I get it. I know that what she did to you was terrible and the way she reacted to it was just as bad. But my job isn’t to decide what is right or wrong, my job is to make sure that the best person is champion and that is Artemis. It might not be about the title for you but for me that’s what she represents. So not just anyone gets a match with her. If you really want that match then prove you can handle it tonight, in a match against Nikki Lynn!
Cheers ring out as the match is announced. Shawna clearly isn’t as pleased. She shakes her head once again and lets out a sigh.
Shawna Martinez: Fine. I’ll play by your rules this week, Elliott, but if I don’t get Artemis soon, I’ll take matters into my own hands.
Elliott Channing: Don’t make threats, Shawna…
Elliott can’t finish her sentence before Shawna interrupts.
Shawna Martinez: It’s not a threat, Elliott, it’s a warning.
Shawna stares down Elliott for only a few seconds longer before turning and making her way down the hallway. The camera stays on Elliott who watches Shawna walk away. She lets out a sigh as it fades out.
