I just thought I would post a quick welcome article for all of you who are currently joining up to let you know a few things about this place if I do decide to open its doors. First of all, a little back story about myself. I have been in the e-fed world, on and off, since around early to mid 2007. I started fedding over at Gamefaqs.com with a few other guys before moving to this mysterious board titled "E-Feds." From there, a corner of the internet called GWF caught my eye and I signed up immediately as The Flaming Badger.
During my tenure at GWF, which lasted until the fed closed around mid 2008, I had won the Tag Division Titles and even a World Title as well as ran, wrote, and booked, my own Sunday show called GWF Sunday Brunch. This is where I got my start in writing shows and this is where I honed my craft. I you ever hear a few people around here bring up Brunch, they usually do it with fond memories. After GWF's closure I went on to fed in a few places set up by old friends and I always took on the writing of matches when asked and even helping with some story ideas here and there. To sum the above up, I am a solid match writer with a history of running feds, both very good things.
What you should expect from me? -
I always make it a point to stay on deadline for posting shows I've booked. What that means is that even if I finish early, the show won't post earlier and even if I'm running late I'll do my best to have it up by the end of the night. I am more of a storyline writer, but most of my matches are decided through promo work. If you promo well, you will most likely do fine and if you're at the top level of writers here, you will skyrocket. Now, what if you aren't at the top of your game? Well, then it is both my job and everyone's jobs to help you get better. And, remember, even if you lose a match, if I see that you are trying and are working at your craft, I will make sure to leave you some sort of story through the match itself to help give you a jumping off point into writing your next promo. What I mean be this will be explained in the following example.
Let's say your character is a hardcore icon and is up against another who claims to be of the hardcore variety. Now, let's say the second individual is a wonderful promo and you're still figuring your character out. You may lose the match, but your character may be written to pass out instead of tap out, or both men crash and burn and you barely missed the ten count while your opponent made it up at 8 or 9. The dream though is to make sure everyone is facing equally skilled opponents in promo contests so you can each get better at writing and playing off one another as you build your own storylines with me and others in The RWD.
What should I expect from you? -
First of all, and most important, The RWD is a community of role players coming together to enjoy wrestling, competition, and one another's company. Now, that's not to say everyone will always get along and work together 100%, but I expect each of you to act your age and treat everyone else with a respectful attitude. If you're the kind of person who enjoys trolling from time to time, that's fine by me, but if you're the type of person who makes themselves feel better by picking on or hurting others in the fed then you will be banned and blacklisted. Keep your beef off the board, and treat each other as a member of the community. Speaking of a community...
The RWD is a collective group and can only improve through the community working together, this including me. If you have an idea for a storyline or you want to work with someone in particular, just PM me or a moderator and we'll do our best to make it happen. When it comes to shows, my goal is to make it the most entertaining for you as possible, but that's not to say that every match will be written by yours truly. Here at The RWD, we expect occasional volunteers from the audience in responsibilities like match writing and giving general feedback to one another and on the shows themselves. If you want to help with match writing on any show, just PM me and know that I will always be looking and asking. Also, if you want to get feedback on your work then you should go out of your way to give feedback on others. This is just another part of being a community.
In closing -
Now that you've read the above, it's time to move over to the Application section of the board and sign up your character. Or, if you're looking for more information on The RWD, head on over to the General Information part of the board where you can read up on the current characters running the federation and the federation's background. Good luck and have fun!
