From the ashes, a phoenix. From war, peace. From MSW... The REVOLUTIONARY WRESTLING DIVISION.
In a bold move during MSW's last days, Travis Rech purchased the MSW, as well as all championships and contracts associated with it. However, this seemingly was not done out of a sentiment, as Rech has already stated that his primary reason for purchasing MSW was a financial one. Rech hopes that the budding new company will more than triple his initial buyout of MSW. Once that goal is reached, Rech stated that he had no problem with selling the RWD off to the highest bidder.
Many superstars expressed concerns with having all of their contracts purchased without their consent. Most cite traveling expenses as their main concern, as the RWD will not be based out of one sole arena. Others however, have expressed extreme displeasure at the fact that Robert Garland and Travis Rech will now be their boss. Frank Washington, for example, has stated that he "absolutely will not" be participating in the RWD, regardless of financial consequences and/or breach of contract penalties.
In addition to the breaking news of buying the MSW, upper management has already unveiled a new process to crown RWD's first World Heavyweight Champion! Over the course of the first two Supercards, a Group Point-Ranking system will be recorded. In each match, the winner will be awarded three points. A draw will be worth one. At the second supercard, the gladiators with the two highest point totals will be competing for the World Heavyweight Championship! Garland and Rech have both promised to "up the ante" along the road to the title match.
In other news, evident from the last time he had been seen, former Missouri State Wrestling Champion, Canada's own Johnny Bonecrusher, was not in the best physical - and more importantly, for the sake of this article, mental condition. Last week on Twitter, after hearing of the sudden closure of the territory, The Pre-Millennium Wrestler had went on a large series of rants in the hopes of stirring up a revival before the MSW's grave even went cold.
No one had expected him to follow that up with an unexpected visit to the deep South, clearly in a more disheveled state of mind, outside and in. After what was presumed to be a suicide attempt, Johnny's been turned over to the proper authorities for his own safety and further psychiatric evaluation. His debut in fellow MSW Alumni Travis Rech's upstart promotion, the Revolutionary Wrestling Development, is expected to be put on hiatus for the time being.
Finally, when questioned about the MSW Women's Championship, The Pure 15 Trophy, World Championship and as to what part Drew Stevenson will have in the future of The RWD, Garland simply said, "Get out of my face with those cameras! And, just wait and see."
