Gabriel Cross vs. Cory Cox w/ Xavier Cox
Writer - Robert Garland
Brenden Reynalds - The following contest is your opening match of the night! It is scheduled for one fall!...
"Hi Friend" by Deadmau5 begins to play, the crowd excited while a few start to dance as they're caught in the moment. After a few short moments, Cory Cox come dancing out of the back, Xavier following close behind as he helps to hype up the crowd. Cory and Xavier pose with their backs to each other, the fans cheering before they dance down the ramp and slap hands with the nearest audience members...
Brenden Reynalds - Making his way to the ring FIRST! From Las Vegas Nevada, and being accompanied by Xavier Cox... Weighing in tonight at 213 lbs...
ONE HALF OF "THE COX FOUNDATION!".... CORY COX!
West Newhaven - What a couple of jokers! This is another example of why these fans have poor taste! They cheer for these clowns, yet boo our future champion, our co-GM, our CEO... The list goes on, Matt!
Matt Baily - These two have been around for a long time West, ever since the days of The GWF's Sunday Brunch... The very same place that co-GM Robert Garland got his first job in management. They've been ready to fight since 2007 and they're happy to be out here in front of these fans!
Both men hop onto the ring apron, touching the tips of their fingers and yelling FU-SION-HA! From there, Xavier hops back down to the floor as Cory enters the ring. Cory removes his shirt and throws it out to the fans, Xavier still jiving on the outside as he's set to cheer his partner on and their music starts to fade...
"Redeemer" by Marilyn Manson is next to play, the lights dimming as the arena is plunged into darkness... Suddenly, a white strobe light flickers on and can be seen throughout the arena as if on cue, and out of nowhere Gabriel Cross appears and can be seen swinging around to face the fans. Cross paces the entrance isle, left to right and the fans of The RWD can be heard booing him, various chants of "Cross sucks" can be heard along with various jeers, and remarks of disdain...
Brenden Reynalds - And his opponent... From Nashville, Tennessee and weighing in at 235 lbs...
“The Crucible” Gabriel Cross!
Matt Baily - His eyes are burning with hatred for these fans! Talk about this company continuously signing goofballs all you want, West. But I'd rather have a good time out here than be stared down by men like Gabriel Cross.
West Newhaven - Those eyes tell the story of a man here to conquer. Gabriel's here to cleanse our roster of filth like The Cox Foundation and show our audience why he's the next Messiah of The RWD! This man's a fighter! He's a tough sunna'va bitch and he's looking to make a statement here tonight!
Cross slowly walks on down the isle and once at ringside Cross walks around to the steel steps and slowly walks up, before entering the ring after turning to look at Xavier on the outside. Once inside the ring Cross climbs the nearest turnbuckle and throws out his arms as he continues to soak in the jeers, and disdain from the fans at ringside and those that can be heard throughout the arena. From there, he hops back down to the mat and turns his attention to Cory... His music fading away as referee Paul Anderson calls for the bell...
*DING DING DING*
Gabriel puts his hands out, asking for the audience to follow him in prayer. The crowd boos, Cory working to get them back to cheering by juking and jiving with his dance routine. The crowd is getting into it, Gabriel looking annoyed as Cory turns his back to his opponent and poses for the fans - Gabriel running up behind him and knocking him down with a lariat to the back of the head! Cory goes down, Gabriel stomping away at him as Xavier calls him a scumbag on the outside. Gabriel stops, asking on more time for the crowd to pray for Cory's soul, the crowd refusing once again as Gabriel shrugs it off and washes his hands of the situation... Pulling Cory up to his feet, getting behind him, and then putting him right back down with The Repentance! (Pumphandle Neckbreaker)
Matt Baily - What a well executed move from Gabriel, but I kind of agree with Xavier on the outside. That early attack to put the match in his favor was pretty scummy of Gabriel Cross. That's not how you make a name for yourself here in The RWD!
West Newhaven - What are you talking about?! You're here to win matches and climb the ladder! The only one you should worry about impressing is the boss! That's how you'll get where you want. It's caring about this "respect thing" that's the reason people like John Carter and Daniel Smart are nowhere in this company!
Matt Baily - Meanwhile Daniel and Carter are both in big matches tonight! You don't know what you're - Wait, what's Gabriel doing now?
Gabriel takes a knee over Cory who remains laid out, Gabriel making the sign of the cross and seemingly praying to a higher power as he gets back to his feet, with his arms outstretched, and changes his glance back to Xavier who is yelling for him to back off. Gabriel announces that he's here for the good of us all! That Xavier is impeding God's will! Meanwhile, Cory is starting to stagger back to his feet, Gabriel turning to meet him - Picking him up and hitting The Rapture! (Vertical Suplex into Sitout Side Slam) Gabriel covers...
ONE!
TWO!
THREE!
TWO!
THREE!
*DING DING DING*
West Newhaven - And just like that it's over! Welcome back to the ring, Cory! Hope you can walk out of it!
Matt Baily - Xavier looks worried out here in front of us. Now, entering the ring to check on his teammate as Gabriel is looking out at the sea of boos that are greeting his debut. Looks like we have another monster on our hands, Gabriel just - Hey! Put him down! Let him go!
Gabriel has moved over towards Xavier who was making sure Cory was able to get back to his feet - Gabriel grabbing a hold of him and locking in The Cathartic Clutch! (Chickenwing over the shoulder crossface, sometimes with a stepover toe hold)! Referee Paul Anderson tries to pry him off, Xavier screaming his lungs out as the crowd chants -
LET HIM GO! LET HIM GO! LET HIM GO! LET HIM GO!
Finally, Gabriel releases his hold, getting back to his feet before calling for a microphone. The audience continue to make noise, Gabriel asking for their silence and waiting for them to slightly die down as Xavier rolls on the mat in pain and Cory has still yet to move...
