Baton Rouge, for Frank it might as well have been a minor homecoming returning to the state of his birth. For once it was nice to travel back to his second home in New Orleans after his victory in Arizona over Parker Van Peters of ACE to train and relax without having to pay a hotel or a gym for his routine. In fact Baton Rouge was only an hour and a half drive from New Orleans meaning Shawna and Frank wouldn’t have to travel again until the day of the show, a luxury not often afforded to a professional wrestler constantly on the road. But even with the lighter travel schedule over the two week period a lot was on his mind.
On one hand he and his wife were finally teaming again, something RWD Management has seemed to make a point not to do despite the fact that they are one of the only official, regular teams in the territory. Another thing on his mind was Maxwell Schneider and that stooge in a suit Johnny Bonecrusher. Maxwell was clearly insane despite his moniker leading you to believe otherwise and Bonecrusher seems to have an agenda against Frank, Shawna, and pretty much anyone they were close to backstage or outside of the business referring to them as a “clique”. Bonecrusher much like a politician tried to play to the masses while trying to spin and throw dirt on those that have done him no harm; at best that made him unreliable and at worst untrustworthy. Despite ribbing Bonecrusher on Twitter when the news broke he knew better than to take his eye off him; this could become pure chaos if Schneider was let off his leash to go after anyone and everyone.
Last but certainly not least two members of the Kaiser Dynasty in Artemis and Cameron were returning to the RWD to stand with KONSTANTINE, the newest man to get in bed with the festering corruption with RWD Management. Sure KONSTANTINE and Badger were only allies by a matter of circumstance and nothing more but for the moment anyway their goals were compatible. To get to the RWD Championship KONSTANTINE had to run through Frank Washington and hope to reclaim 2nd place in the process of doing Badger’s dirty work. As for Badger’s intentions, that needed no repetition; it was a matter of spilling a rival’s blood in a quest for vengeance.
As the scene opens up on the banks of the Mississippi River just outside of New Orleans Frank Washington could be seen staring at his reflection in the water as the sound of laughter fills the air. It was just past sundown and the fire can be heard cackling behind him in the distance as a gathering of people could be seen behind him. Shawna Martinez, longtime friend and occasional manager Alex Smith, and several family friends could all be seen gathered at or around the fire having a good time. The laughter and joy was absent from The Revolutionary though, at least for the moment. There was business to attend to after all; there would be time for celebration after.
Frank Washington: Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. That’s how the old saying goes anyway. On the surface we have a typical six-tag but once again Travis Rech and Robert Garland stack the deck towards one side with a unified front facing off against The Impassable Revolution™ and a raving lunatic managed by a man with a vendetta. Now I’m not some shell shocked veteran but I nearly had a PTSD flashback to the MSW Tag Team Tournament of 2014 when I ran the gauntlet of what was otherwise glorified handicap matches with a partner I could not trust. Shawna and I have been waiting for the opportunity to team again ever since our last match together but I should’ve expected such an uneven situation from the RWD front office.
A wry smile forms on his face at the mere irony. There was always a catch to everything in RWD when the very men in power were trying to make your life a living hell.
Frank Washington: But that’s how it’s always been ever since I came to the RWD when my contract was “bought out” from under me. Management attaches themselves to a chosen flag bearer to carry out their orders, their dirty work like a leach for all they’re worth before casting them aside when they’re no longer of use. Chris Williams was a man for many years that fought for what was right, carried himself with integrity and honor; he had the respect of every single locker room he ever entered. But then Garland had to fill his head with lies and false promises and he used his emotions against him in order to manipulate him into becoming a loyal puppet… and then what? He lost. He failed his “duty” and Garland acted like he didn’t even know the man he called his “friend”; he took his livelihood away.
All that could be seen in his eyes at this point was pure anger. Frank and Chris never had the best history and at several times they engaged in high profile matches against one another but there used to be a mutual respect between the two. When that bell rang despite any differences in philosophy they had they respected the other’s ability inside the ring. When Frank Washington appeared to have possibly wrestled his last match in 2012 he raised his hand after Chris beat him in his hometown. It was a time in his life where he wasn’t sure if he could continue doing what he does now and a time where he had to do a lot of soul searching but if he went out, if it was indeed his last match he was honored to have wrestled Chris Williams. It was this manipulation of an old rival that seemed to have only dumped more gasoline on the fire.
Frank Washington: Yet despite this, KONSTANTINE thinks out of pure arrogance and vanity that he won’t fall to the same fate. I get it, KONSTANTINE has a severe case of tunnel vision in pursuit of the RWD Championship. He wants the top prize and all the perks that with it but in the end KONSTANTINE is falling for a bunch of false promises laced with honeyed words. “You take care of Frank Washington and you’ll be in the Championship Match by securing the 2nd place spot.”
He gives a mocking impersonation of Garland with that last sentence with a heavy dose of sarcasm.
Frank Washington: Don’t you realize your replacement is already here?! Don’t you realize none of this “Contest of Conquest” means a damn thing? It’s nothing more than a system of points that can be easily manipulated by Travis Rech to get exactly who HE wants regardless of any actual merit. You don’t believe me? Look at the supposed “Free Agent” who turned out to be none other than Scotty “Come Lately” Addams, the man with an ego who Never Says Die; a man I did consider a friend until recently.
While everyone else was here busting their asses to earn their spots he sat on the sidelines until Management decided to pay a King’s Ransom to hire him as a mercenary to take Frankie Cocheese out. Cocheese, love him or hate him is his own man and despite the best attempts from Robert Garland to sway him to his camp he had enough self-respect to tell him to hit the road and remain his own man. Garland went from kissing his ass and knowing what he had to breakfast to maneuvering behind the scenes to punish him all because he said a two letter word he’s not used to hearing; “no”. Hell what’s to stop Garland or Rech from rigging the main event where Cocheese loses points or loses his spot, what’s to stop them from inserting Scotty Addams into the championship match at the Supercard as a reward if he just so happened to do their dirty work and beat the undefeated? What kind of “friend” comes back at the expense of his “Jokers Wild” brothers? What kind of “brother” sells out to the very men who are trying to end the career of one of them while taking the screws to the other when he busted his ass to EARN his spot?
He shook his head out of pure disgust.
Frank Washington: You’re playing a fool’s game that you can’t possibly win KONSTANTINE, you’re already expendable. If Management had any sense of business management and promoter competence they would’ve thrown this bullshit points system out and put the best three or four wrestlers in the main event and crown a real champion instead of trying to be a special snowflake about it. If you were smart KONSTANTINE you’d cut Garland off for your own sake and take care of your own business without that little weasel whispering in your ear. The writing’s on the wall; save yourself.
Frank paces around for a moment before finding a rock to sit on by the river as he took another few moments to gaze into the tranquil but fierce river. A smile slowly returned to his face however as he turned his head back towards the camera.
Frank Washington: The final part of this whole equation, The Kaiser Dynasty. Never in such a short time has a wrestling family shot up to prominence in the United States, it might as well be the second coming of the Hart Family with the talent that comes out of Canada. A family that at times has had both my respect and hatred for what they do inside the ring. Cameron Kaiser and I have crossed paths several times before when W.A.S.T.E. was running wild in Carson, California while I was managing Bobby Langford and Noah Adelaide. If circumstances were different I could see myself calling Cameron Kaiser a friend with the ruthless efficiency he commands in the ring and had his sister Artemis never broken my wife’s neck I could see myself calling her a friend as well. Inside the ring you won’t come many others who are as technically sound or quite as innovative. Although currently… I have no reason to stand against Cameron Kaiser.
He paused as he let that one sink in for a moment. Whether it was out of respect to allow others to settle their personal differences or out of distrust of Johnny Bonecrusher he seemed content to stand aside when it came to those two and Schneider, well under most circumstances anyway.
Frank Washington: As long as he directed his aggression solely towards those he has a bone to pick with, I personally won’t stand in his way. After all I doubt Cameron is concerned about winning the match more as he is about dealing out pain to Bonecrusher or Schneider. The moment he comes after me or Shawna though is when that changes. I’m going to act in self-defense or intervene regardless if that’s Cameron, Artemis, KONSTANTINE, or Maxwell Schneider. At the end of the day we’re here to win; this isn’t a charity, it’s going to be a clinic. So you best bring your A-Game because a New Day’s Dawn is fast approaching, and it’s here to snuff you out.
With that the scene immediately fades to black.
