Hayden Phoenix is not one to back down, nor is he one to take the words of an opponent as their action. He is not one to take the words of his opponent as something to be scared of. No matter the challenge that lies in front of him, Hayden Phoenix is always up for a challenge. Walking into a Fatal Four Way match is something that requires preparation as Phoenix is facing two men that have defeated him once before, and another talent that he helped to score a win at the last episode of Combat. All has been quiet on the Kruzer and Harlan front, and that leaves Phoenix only to really address The Prince and his recent promo.
Phoenix: It looks like this match may end up being a two pony show... Kruzer and Harlan have not said anything up to this point... maybe they are stepping away from the match that REALLY needs to happen... Assad versus Hayden Phoenix. I will have to admin that Assad, no matter how much bullshit comes from his mouth or not, is fully confident in himself. Coming into a match with potentially two people that are out for your head, Assad seems to be remaining quite cool under the pressure. Let's see if that holds for long...
[Phoenix picks up the cloth and presents it to the camera]
Phoenix: This is the flag of Egypt. Whether or not it means much to the Prince, this is the flag of his country. Now where I come from, allowing this flag to touch the ground is something you simply do not do. You do not burn it, nor do you desecrate it in any way. What am I doing holding it? I am simply showing to Assad that while he disrespects myself, my fellow Canadians, and the Canadian country as a whole... I have the ability to make the same choice and throw this flag on the ground. I could try to piss off those that believe Assad is in the right and a winner because he wins, and that "is what matters at the end of the day". See, the difference is that while my hatred for you grows... I can differentiate between what YOU are and what YOU think you are representing. You like to try to rile me up, and get underneath my skin... but as you can see, I make the choice to allow myself to fill with rage.
[Phoenix folds up the flag neatly, and places it into a display case]
Phoenix: And to think, I have clouded judgement. Ha! What a joke. I am just focused... focused on winning this match. I know full well that this is a four way dance, and I might have to take our Kruzer or Harlan, or both of them... or even all three of you. So be it. I am focused on making sure that I inflict some revenge on you, but the best revenge is handing you another loss Assad. See? I DO learn. And maybe it is your turn to learn... to lose. Last week I made sure that Kruzer had a fair fight with you, and we all know how that ended, don't we? And this week you will know what it is like to have two losses in a row. I have learned my lesson about you Assad, I know how ruthless and careless you are when it comes to the rules of the match... I know to watch my back... and I know that two other opponents exist in this match. The only thing that is clouded will be YOUR vision after I am finished with you.
And when it comes to my investment in your, it is quite simple to understand... it is called fighting a fair fight. You screwed me out of a win, and you screwed others out of wins. That is not cool with me and I am going to make you an example of why I am better than you, and why I deserve my rightful place among the winners in this company. At the end of the day your wins are tainted... and yes, I understand that they are indeed wins, but I am a MAN when I enter that ring. I want to win fair and square, and I want to know that I legitimately beat the man that I was facing. Obviously, you could careless about being a man.
The funniest thing is that you are calling me butt hurt? You REALLY think that? Are you REALLY that full of yourself? See Assad, what you don't get is that I am not a stalker nor am I some sort of obsessed person about you... I see this match as killing multiple birds with one stone. I get to beat YOU, I get an important win in my career, I get to win a match that involves three men that are rising the ranks of RWD, and I get to win whatever that sweet prize is at the end. I hope for your sake that this match does not last long because I plan on inflicting plenty of pain on you Assad... and that is a gift of its own.
[The scene ends with a smirk from Phoenix towards the camera]
