[The scene opens as we see Hayden Phoenix sitting on the couch again, but this tmie he is wearing his ring attire. It looks like he is making some last minute preparations for the match. Again, a television is a few feet in front of him as he again pauses what this time appears to be some sort of movie?]
I am actually finishing up my research about John Carter for our match, and I am a bit confused about this part of my research. It seems that Mr. John Carter is a man transported to Barsoom; he is also a Civil War vet that discovers a barren planet seemingly inhabited by 12-foot tall barbarians. Finding himself prisoner of these creatures, he escapes, only to encounter Woola and a princess in desperate need of a savior. Oh wait... that was a Disney movie flop. Ha! But seriously John... I bet that movie sure killed some of your swagger. How often do you get asked about the movie?
"My name is John Carter"
"Like the movie?"
[Hayden slaps his own head pretending to be letdown by the question posed]
Anyways... John, I am glad that you meant what you said, I would not want anything less from an opponent. That said, I am sad to inform you that just because you think that you can hang with anyone on the roster does not mean that you actually can. And who am I to judge? But I do not believe that you are the biggest and best... to be honest I was hoping for a match for someone higher on the food chain, but the thought that you or I are in that position right now is a joke. We both have been toiling away in mid-cart matches at best, and I was hoping that at From The Ashes I would be able to have a breakout moment. I guess I just need to have that moment against you, John. And the idea that I won't get past you... it simply is not true John. You need to sit back and realize that you are standing in the path of a train, and there is no way that you will be able to stop it or derail it. I am on my path, and winning my debut Pay-Per-View match is just the next evolution in my career.
[Hayden turns the television off and stands up, ready for his match as he begins to loosen up a bit]
After this match, I hope that we can remain friends John. I enjoyed winning my debut match alongside of you, and I hope that beating your at From The Ashes won't hinder that.
[The scene fades to black]
