It looks like last week Lukas Kage was on the losing end of a handicap match, and than took it out on his partners. That is the definition of a loser. I also lost last week, but after the match was over I shook hands with my opponent. Along the way, it is obviously that we will all face challenges and sometimes it is beyond our own control. Ray Harlan picked up a big 'W' over me and there is nothing I can say that will get it back. I have to move on, and moving onto Kage is what I have to do. This business is about respect, and Harlan and I have developed respect for each other. I have earned friends that were opponents, because we respected each other; but for someone to turn on their opponents, that is pathetic and cowardly. I have teamed with people that I do not even know, but I put my own thoughts and feelings aside to fight FOR the team... not against them. I had to team with John Carter, and together we pulled out a win and developed a mutual respect for each other. I am going somewhere in this business and in this company, and I will be making a name for myself... but I will be doing it the RIGHT way and not by turning on those around me. At least I know what kind of man you are Kage... a coward. And I face cowards head on. This match will be one in which there is no doubt that I will come out the victor, and doing so I will work my way up the RWD ladder. Last week was a set back for me, but I made a strong showing. YOU, on the other hand, left a poor taste in the mouth of not only your partners but of the fans. This week I will teach you a lesson and respect, and you will know what it means to not only respect your opponent but to respect those on your team... regardless if you want them to be on your team or not.
[Phoenix stands up, stands tall, and takes a deep breath. He seemingly clears his throat after taking a drink of water from his water bottle]
You know, I have seen many people come and go in companies... it is easy to come into a company, win a few matches, lose one or two, and than disappear... but that is NOT what I am about. I made some arrangements to make appearances with an old friend of mine, and we have wrestled there as well, but The Revolutionary Wrestling Division allowed me to come in and gave me a home... and for that I am going to prove to them that they made the right decision. I may not be the bad boy that the ladies want, nor am I the overtly badass that the men cheer for... and far from it am I the superhero that the kids want. I am a professional, and I take my job seriously; I demand perfection of myself, and I strive to get better week-by-week. I had an off week last week, but it happens to all of us. I intend on taking on someone with some stout to their experience or history at the Supercard; that is why I called out an open challenge. I want to take on the biggest and best that RWD has to offer, because I will be making a statement.
I walk down that entrance ramp week-in and week-out, no matter the outcome I continue to show every week, put forth everything I have, and I know that soon enough I will break through. I know that I have experience to get under my belt, but I am ready for that challenge and I am ready to make an impact with the big boys. I know better than to look past any opponent, and that includes Kage. I respect what anyone and everyone brings to the table and know better than to look past any opponent, including Kage. That is what respect is about... respecting your opponent and their skills no matter what. I believe the term is "any given Sunday", right? Good luck Kage...
