The scene is that of a very average looking apartment, a vacation away from the current busy life of the man called "The Badger." The setting is an unusual one for Robert Garland, the furniture actually all in one piece as the center piece of the two bedroom complex is that of of a nice looking television that is usually never turned on. The apartment has a stable internet connection and a business laptop is set up on one of the clean looking desks. Finally, a weight bench is set up very casually in one of the corners of the main room with few free weights accompanying it.
In the center of these modern looking living conditions is Garland himself. Robert Garland can be heard talking on the phone, Nikki Lynn communicating with him on the other line...
Nikki Lynn - Are you sure you can handle this, sweetie? You only found out about her a few months ago... There's no need to rush anything. I really want you two to get along, you know?
Robert Garland - Of course... It's fine. Why should I be worried about havin' to watch my own daughter? Although, I'm still not completely over the fact that you hid this from me over these last six years. I know I was preoccupied with the wrestlin' business... Among other things... But, to have been pregnant that whole time in EWA? And then keepin' it a secret as long as you did? What's the matter? Didn't think I could handle it?
Nikki Lynn - It's not that... It's just - Well, we both know what you've been going through over these last few years. The drug abuse? The outbursts of anger and violent fits of rage? The obsession with Frank -
Robert Garland - DON'T!...
Look, I'm sorry. I've been workin' on everythin', alright. The RWD... This whole situation is good for me, you know? This is the perfect outin' I needed to finally finish my unfinished business and put the past to rest. Once this is all over... Maybe I'll finally be able to settle down...
Nikki seems taken aback at those words, her growing happiness at Garland's suggestion completely obvious in her voice as the two finish their conversation and hang up with one another. Alone again, Garland lets out a sigh at what he just implied, heading over to his couch before an unfamiliar voice grabs his attention...
Daddy? Was that Mommy on the phone?
Garland turns, a little girl of barely five years old in the doorway of one of the bedrooms. Garland faces her with a half-smile on his face, but doesn't give a quick enough response for her liking. The little girl speaks up once more, Garland not sure yet how to talk to this new person in his life.
What did she say? Does she miss me? Did the plane leave yet?
Garland scratches the back of his head, his daughter waiting on an answer as Garland seems to be searching for the right words...
Robert Garland - She uh... She said she loves you very much and she's headin' out soon. She wanted me to remind you that she's only gonna be gone for a few days and she'll drop by when she gets back into town. And... She left me your favorite book. So, if you want... I could come in, in a bit, and read you a bedtime story. How's that sound, Tara?
The little girl smiles, almost as excited as Nikki was previously. With a nod, she heads back into the bedroom as Garland goes to follow before being distracted by his phone ringing once more. Garland lets Tara know that he'll be in after another phone call, Garland answering to the voice of Travis Rech.
Robert Garland - What? We lost another one, huh? First Ray Harlan, then Drew Stevenson? Well, at least it wasn't anyone important!
Travis Rech - While Ah'd usually agree with ya, Ah'm not shure this trend won't continue. Ah had left ya in charge last week while Ah was attendin' ta other business, but it seems ah couple of yer last minute decisions didn't go over as smooth as we'd 'ave hoped. As with Drew... While it's nice ta see that sack of money on mah desk from his departure, Ah'm afraid this all won't just blow over. It seems his exit has caused ah sort of revolution of its own stirrin' inside tha company. Now, what do ya suppose we're supposed ta do about that? How're ya gonna handle this uprisin'?
Robert Garland - Heh... Why're you so worried, Rech? You know what this is really all about. People are tryin' to use this situation as a jumpin' off point to get themselves over and create situations that tend to their advantages. Am I worried? Nah. I honestly don't think it's a big deal. The couple of loud mouth will soon have their mouths shut after seein' the genius of From The Ashes. Trust me, Rech. This will all blow over unless we start pourin' gas all over the flames. Just keep doin' what you're doin' and I'll keep makin' people like Noah, Arren, Maxwell, and Washington's lives a livin' nightmare.
Travis Rech - Well, either way... Ah think it'd be best ta at least address some of this in tha ring. Ah'm comin' back fer Sunday Night Combat four, an' Ahm'a at least address these situations at tha start of tha show. Ah've got some things ta get off mah chest as well, and now might be tha best time to let it all go... Besides, Ah gotta show up and make those last few announcements fer From Tha Ashes as well. Ah'll see ya when Ah get in buddy. Say hi ta Tara fer me.
With that, Garland once again hangs up the phone. His daughter is waiting patiently for him to make an appearance, Garland first heading to the bathroom to clean himself up as he's also starting to feel tired. As much as he's mentioned that the recent issues haven't managed to bother him... Garland definitely seems worried about the future of The RWD. Once in the bathroom, he cleans his face with a washcloth, staring into the mirror and seemingly thinking to himself.
With a lot of thoughts running through his mind, Garland seems to be looking for an out as his hand reaches up and opens the furthest cabinet. Garland goes to reach into a hidden compartment, pulling a few objects out, However, cutting him off, Tara's voice distracts him as he decides against what he was thinking and heads over towards her calls. As Garland walks away, forgetting to close the cabinet behind him...

A few seemingly recently used needles are sticking out of it...
